Supporting Nicaraguan Mission Churches
Ad Crucem banners supplied to Nicaraguan Lutheran Churches
Lutheran mission churches in Nicaragua, supported by Confessional Lutherans in Canada, were searching for seasonal banners to beautify 20 churches.
Dr. Harold Ristau, then of Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary and now working at the Lutheran School of Theology outside Nairobi, Kenya, was on the hunt for banners that would survive Nicaragua’s hot, humid, and dusty climate.
Having seen some of Ad Crucem’s banners hanging at Trinity Lutheran in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Dr. Ristau enquired about options to purchase banners for the churches in Nicaragua. After investigating several options, it was agreed that Ad Crucem would donate the artwork to enable the banners to be printed and distributed within Nicaragua rather than bought and shipped from the United States.
Ad Crucem provided artwork for four seasonal banners that now hang in Lutheran churches throughout Nicaragua - Red Reformation, Violet Crucifix, Green Agnus Dei Victorious, and White Agnus Dei Victorious.
Lisa Jackson, MD of Lutheran Laymen's League of Canada, traveled to Nicaragua last year and shared the enclosed photos of the banners in one of the churches.
Ad Crucem loves to support Confessional Lutheran missions if it’s within our means. Let us know if you have a project that might be worth consideration. We cannot support every cause, but there are a few we can tackle each year.
For example, Ad Crucem donated a custom-designed logo to the Lutheran School of Theology, created certificates for its graduates and baptized members, and created a vector version of the Lutherans in Africa logo to provide scalable print-ready options.
